About The Practice
The Intentional Path was established to support you through the emotional challenges that come when you arrive at the possibility of parenthood and all the way through parenting.
Sometimes fertility difficulties, pregnancy, or parenthood can uncover an unconscious struggle from the past that can make you feel suddenly vulnerable or off kilter. A grounded sense of self can make this transition a little bit easier.
With a genuine desire to make mental health more accessible and help guide you through times of vulnerability and challenge, I warmly offer you openness and support when you need it most.

About Monica, MSc, RCC
Supporting others along their path to wellness has always been my calling, but I began my education and career in science.
Originally, I trained as a Genetic Counsellor at the University of British Columbia. I began working with individuals and families facing life-changing decisions. These wonderful people were often derailed simply trying to become pregnant, or were struggling to come to grips with tragedy that had befallen their pregnancy, or were facing difficulty after their baby was born.
Not until I faced parenthood myself did I truly begin to understand the pain and multi-faceted challenges many families face surrounding this stage of life: the uniquely lonely and devastating experience of trying but not becoming pregnant, the shattering grief of pregnancy loss, a traumatic birth experience, or the struggle to remain connected to our partners and even ourselves through an ever-shifting identity. Along the way I have trained as a Doula, a lactation counsellor, and finally mental health professional.

I want the world to be a better place.
I am genuinely called to help parents love their children in a consistent and unconditional way, set healthy boundaries, and model emotional wellness and relational maturity so their children grow into healthy adults who are again more able to do this for their children.
I want to relieve suffering of adults who have unmet emotional needs so they are better able to care for themselves, their partnership(s), and their children.
Together we can make your life more joyful, resilient, and fulfilling.
